Chicago – May 04, 2025

Lady Gaga put on a free concert on Saturday night in front of an enormous crowd of 2 million fans at Copacabana Beach, making it the biggest performance of her career.

“Tonight, we’re making history… Thank you for making history with me,” Lady Gaga told the excited crowd.

The concert started around 10:10 p.m. local time with her hit song “Bloody Mary” from 2011. Fans, packed closely together, cheered and sang along, enjoying every moment of the show on the beach. Organizers said around 2.1 million people attended.

Throughout the night, Lady Gaga performed many of her famous songs like “Poker Face” and “Alejandro,” wearing different outfits, including one that featured the colors of the Brazilian flag.

Many fans, especially young ones, arrived early in the morning to get a good spot. They brought snacks and drinks to keep cool as they waited in the hot sun. Some fans even climbed trees to get a better view of the concert.

This huge concert was part of a plan by Rio’s City Hall to bring more tourism and boost the economy after the busy Carnival and New Year’s celebrations. Officials believe the concert will bring at least 600 million reais (around $106 million) to the city.

Similar concerts will take place every year in May until at least 2028.
