Indian American actress Iman Esmail, known by her screen name Imanvi, who stars opposite Prabhas in the upcoming war drama Fauji, has addressed a wave of online backlash following unverified claims about her family’s alleged ties to the Pakistani military.

The controversy erupted after a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which left 28 civilians dead. In the emotionally charged aftermath, social media began circulating rumors that Imanvi’s father once served as a Major in the Pakistan Army before the family moved to the United States.

Responding to the allegations, Imanvi took to Instagram with a detailed statement, firmly denying the claims and calling them “baseless lies” spread by online trolls. “I am a proud Indian-American,” she wrote, emphasizing her roots and condemning the attempt to question her integrity based on unverified gossip.

The film Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, was officially announced last year and marks Imanvi’s debut alongside superstar Prabhas. While the production team has yet to comment, Imanvi’s response has received support from fans who are calling for an end to the smear campaign.
