Chicago – July 27, 2025

In a new and controversial decision, Donald Trump has announced that starting this August, English will be the only official language in the United States. Under this policy, all public services—such as schools, hospitals, government offices, and even websites—will no longer offer help in other languages like Spanish. Signs, forms, and websites in Spanish will be removed, and only English will be used for government communication and services.

Trump explained that anyone who wants to live in the U.S. should speak English, as he believes it is the language of the country. He says this change will help strengthen American identity, improve communication, and make it easier for people to come together.

The policy is still in the planning stage, and local and federal agencies will soon be given instructions to start the changes. Some supporters believe this decision is long overdue. They say it could make government services more efficient and help immigrants adapt to life in the U.S. faster.

However, critics argue that the move is unfair. They warn it could create problems for millions of people who do not speak English, especially those who rely on public services like healthcare and education.
