On Thursday, August 21st, a fundraising event was held in honor of Bushra Amiwala at Monty’s Elegant Banquets. The event gathered over 200 prominent guests, including key figures from various industries, to support the American activist, politician, and public speaker.

27 years old Bushra Amiwala made history in April 2019 by becoming the first Gen Z woman to be elected as an official in the United States. Additionally, she was recognized as the youngest Muslim elected official at the time. Amiwala graduated from DePaul University in Management Information Systems, with double minors in Community Service Studies and Public Policy. She is did an MBA at Kellogg School of Management.

The evening featured a musical concert, with renowned figures from the cultural scene contributing to the festivities. Abbas Ali Mirza, known for his tribute to Bollywood legends, captivated the audience with his concert, “Yado Ki Barat,” while Bharti Desai and Sadia Khan delivered mesmerizing musical performances that added to the charm of the event.

Prominent personalities such as Editor-in-chief Engr. Mujeeb Osman, Mr. Kamal Sayeed, Chancellor Zaki Uddin & his wife Bushra, and Rayees Yawer were in attendance, lending their support to the cause. The event marked a memorable night, celebrating both Bushra Amiwala’s achievements and the future of young leaders committed to making a difference in the world.
