Chicago – November 18, 2025

Soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo is set to meet former President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, coinciding with the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, officials confirmed. Ronaldo, currently playing in Saudi Arabia’s Pro League, is the first male athlete to score in five World Cup tournaments, having netted 143 goals for Portugal. He recently became the first footballer to reach billionaire status following a lucrative contract with Al Nassr.

The Saudi Crown Prince’s visit marks his first to the White House in over seven years and includes a welcome ceremony, a bilateral meeting with Trump, and a formal dinner. Despite these formalities, this visit will not be officially labeled a state visit as the prince is not Saudi Arabia’s head of state.

Ronaldo’s visit to Washington is notable, as his last public appearance in the US was in August during a European pre-season tour. The soccer star has also hinted that the upcoming 2026 World Cup will be his final international competition. This visit demonstrates Ronaldo’s rising global profile amid politically significant engagements.
