President Donald Trump has installed controversial plaques beneath portraits of past U.S. presidents along a West Wing colonnade he calls the “Presidential Walk of Fame.” Many inscriptions, penned by Trump himself, feature sharp partisan critiques in his signature style.
Biden’s plaque labels him “Sleepy Joe,” claims he assumed office via “the most corrupt election ever,” and dubs him “the worst president in American history.” Obama’s reads as “one of the most divisive political figures,” while George W. Bush’s notes approval of Homeland Security but faults his “wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the texts “eloquently written descriptions,” confirming Trump’s direct involvement. The display, revamped in September with gilded portraits (Biden depicted via autopen), allows Trump to guide dignitaries past his framing of history.
Critics decry the partisan tone in a historic space, amid Trump’s White House changes like East Wing demolition for a ballroom. No responses from Biden or Obama aides.
