Chicago – December 22, 2025
The Trump administration has increased its financial incentive for undocumented migrants to voluntarily leave the United States, raising the stipend from $1,000 to $3,000 through December 31, 2025. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the tripling of the “exit bonus” on December 22, targeting those who self-deport using the CBP Home app.
Eligible migrants receive the cash payment plus a free flight to their home countries and waived civil fines upon confirmed departure. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem urged participation, stating, “Illegal aliens should take advantage of this gift and self-deport because, if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return”.
The CBP Home app, rebranded from CBP One earlier this year, streamlines the process for voluntary exits amid the administration’s immigration crackdown. This limited-time offer aims to reduce deportations costs before stricter enforcement escalates in 2026.
