Claims circulating online allege that former Indian tennis star Sania Mirza rejected a multi-crore offer to appear in a film titled Sindoor, reportedly because of the project’s alleged anti-Pakistan theme.
The posts claim that Mirza declined the offer despite pressure from the Indian government, saying she had earned her wealth through her own hard work and did not require the money. They further allege that a shopping centre associated with her in Hyderabad was subsequently shut down over pending taxes and that her lawyers challenged the government’s action in court.
Despite being offered crores of rupees and facing government pressure, she refused to be a part of the project, stating that she has billions earned through her own hard work and does not need their money. Following her refusal, her shopping center in Hyderabad was shut down on the pretext of pending taxes. Sania’s lawyers have now filed a case in court against the government’s actions.
