Chicago – September 06, 2026

Hundreds of masked protesters staged an anti-immigration demonstration at the Port of Dover in southern England on Saturday, September 5, blocking roads leading to one of the UK’s busiest ferry terminals.

The protesters, many dressed in black and wearing balaclavas, chanted slogans including “stop the boats,” referring to migrants crossing the English Channel in small boats. The action temporarily disrupted traffic between Britain and France, with significant congestion reported around the port.

Kent Police attended the scene and engaged with protesters. No arrests were reported, and access to the port was restored later in the day. The UK government condemned the disruption, saying the demonstration went beyond peaceful protest.

The protest comes amid continued political debate over immigration and Channel crossings. Official UK figures show no small-boat arrivals were recorded from August 29 through September 4, although the figures are provisional.
