The United States has announced new sanctions on several Israeli settlers and groups, accusing them of violence or threats against civilians, property seizures, and actions threatening security in the occupied West Bank.
On Thursday, the US Department of State and the Treasury Department announced sanctions against Israeli individuals Isachar Manne, Reut Ben Haim, and Aviad Shlomo Sarid. They also targeted four illegal Israeli settlement outposts: Manne Farm, Meitarim Farm, Hamahoch Farm, and Neriya’s Farm. Lehava, a group described as the “largest violent extremist organization in Israel” with over 10,000 members, was also blacklisted.
The sanctions freeze any assets held by the targeted individuals and groups in US jurisdictions and prevent Americans from doing business with them.
Lehava quickly criticized the US designation and President Joe Biden, stating that they will not stop their actions. Earlier this year, the EU also placed Lehava on its asset freeze and visa ban blacklist due to their attacks on Palestinians.
