Trump claimed that Harris, who is both Black and Asian American, has only acknowledged her Indian heritage in the past.
Harris is the daughter of a Jamaican father and an Indian mother who immigrated to the United States.
Trump’s comments on Wednesday were part of a broader criticism he has directed at Harris since she was announced as a likely leading figure on the Democratic ticket, taking over from President Joe Biden.
