Tastes of Pakistan organized an Independence Day celebration at the Roger C Claar Performing Arts Centre in Bolingbrook, IL. The Saturday night event attracted around 1000- 1500 guests.
The Hon. Consul General of Pakistan, Tariq Karim attended as special guest while Bolingbrook mayor Mary Alexander Basta was also in attendance. The honarable guest also presented awards to distinguished police officers of Bolingbrook.
Naperville City council nominee Ashfaq Syed also attended the event and made a speech.
The famous singers from Pakistan Humaira Arshad and Sharique Roomi performed at the event.
There were food stalls, university / non-food stalls and premium booths. a large turnout came and visited these stalls and enjoyed authentic Pakistani cuisine.
Northwest Suburban College had a booth at the event.
The organizers included Mir Ali, Talat Rashid, Fahim Shehzad, Hamid Bhatti and Zulfi Ahmed.
