Chicago – August 28, 2024
Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, are set for their first joint interview since launching their campaign, CNN announced on Tuesday. The interview by CNN anchor Dana Bash will air on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
Harris had mentioned weeks ago that she planned to schedule an interview before the end of August. Since starting her campaign in late July, she has faced pressure to address questions about her candidacy formally. Ohio Senator JD Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, has been one of her strongest critics. After a recent encounter at a Wisconsin airport, Vance questioned why Harris has been avoiding media interviews.
In contrast, former President Donald Trump and Vance have participated in multiple media interviews since the Republican National Convention in July.
