Vice President Kamala Harris, who is the Democratic candidate for the U.S. presidential election, challenged her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, to debate her with both of their microphones on. The debate is scheduled for September 10 and will be hosted by ABC News. Harris criticized Trump’s advisors on social media, suggesting they lacked confidence in him by preferring to control his microphone. Trump, on the other hand, expressed his desire to keep his microphone on, recalling his dislike for it being muted during his last debate against President Joe Biden.
This upcoming debate will mark the first time Harris and Trump will directly confront each other after President Biden decided not to run following a challenging debate in June. In addition, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance will have their own debate on CBS News on October 1.
