On Labor Day, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned together in Pittsburgh, a key union city, emphasizing their administration’s support for labor rights. They argued that if Harris became President, she would continue to boost workers’ rights. This campaign stop in Pennsylvania marked the start of the traditional fall campaign season, which former President Donald Trump skipped this year.
While Trump has campaign events planned for later in the week in North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, he was notably absent from campaigning on Sunday and Monday. His campaign team did not provide comments on this.
At the rally, President Biden spoke highly of Vice President Harris, describing her as having the integrity of a “saint” and a strong determination. He expressed his support for her future endeavors. The crowd responded positively, chanting “thank you, Joe,” as he began his speech.
Vice President Harris took the stage to highlight the benefits unions have brought, such as the five-day workweek and paid leave, and encouraged early voting in Pennsylvania starting September 16.
