An undercover video featuring a United Nations legal affairs employee expressing concerns over a potential second Trump presidency has brought renewed attention to Trump’s policies towards the U.N. The employee mentioned fears that the U.N. might not withstand another term under Trump. This video was released by the “Louder with Crowder” podcast.
During his presidency, Donald Trump took a strong stance against what he saw as corruption and anti-American sentiment within the U.N. He stopped funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) after a connection was found between some of its employees and a violent attack in Israel. Trump also pulled the U.S. out of several U.N. organizations and agreements, including the Human Rights Council, the World Health Organization, UNESCO, and the Paris climate agreement, citing various concerns such as financial mismanagement and bias.
However, President Joe Biden reversed many of these decisions upon taking office, rejoining the aforementioned organizations and agreements. Biden did, though, suspend funding to UNRWA after its implicated role in violence was highlighted by Israel.
