Senior Congress leader Kumari Selja recently turned down an offer from Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This happened during a time when there were rumors of disagreements within her party as the Haryana elections approached.
Selja, a significant Dalit figure in Congress, expressed her deep loyalty to the party at an AajTak event, stating, “Congress runs in my blood. Just as my father was wrapped in the party’s flag, I too will depart in the same way.”
Selja addressed the rumors of internal conflict in Congress by explaining that while there are some ongoing issues, these are normal and part of the party’s development process.
She emphasized that internal discussions are not for the public and reassured that such matters are simply part of routine decision-making. On the topic of choosing candidates for elections, she remarked that it is entirely up to the party, highlighting the complex nature of political dynamics.
