Former President Donald Trump’s campaign had to move an event from outdoors to indoors in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, due to staffing shortages at the Secret Service. The event was initially planned to be held outside, but the Secret Service expressed concerns about securing the area effectively because they are currently understaffed. This information was shared by a senior official who learned about the planning details.
The Secret Service, which provides security for many important figures, has been under a lot of pressure lately. They are also responsible for the security at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, happening at the same time as Trump’s visit to Wisconsin. Due to these pressures, Congress has recently given the Secret Service an additional $231 million to help them manage their responsibilities.
The need for heightened security comes after two recent attempts on Trump’s life, one in Pennsylvania and another in Florida, which have raised concerns about his safety.
