Vice President Kamala Harris has recently spent nearly $7 million on private jet flights for her campaign, despite her previous statements urging Americans to change their habits to help combat climate change. Since July, Harris has spent about $4 million on these flights and an additional $3.1 million in September alone, according to new data from the Federal Election Commission.
Harris used two companies for her September flights: Private Jet Services Group and Advanced Aviation Team. The Harris campaign did not answer questions about the carbon footprint of these flights. The Vice President has often spoken about climate change as a significant threat and has emphasized that human actions play a role in this issue.
This isn’t the first campaign where Harris has relied heavily on private jets. In 2019, her campaign also paid a significant amount for flights from Air Partner Inc., a company known for providing access to over 7,000 private jets.
