The race for the presidency in the United States is coming to a close, with candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris making their final efforts in a very close and important election. This election is different from any other in U.S. history and could change the country significantly.
The candidates have been busy because the election is so tight, especially in seven key states that will likely decide who wins.
Donald Trump, who is 78 years old and a member of the Republican party, has had a tough time recently, surviving two attempts on his life and being found guilty of a serious crime by a New York jury—the first time a former U.S. president has faced such a verdict.
On the other side, Kamala Harris, the 60-year-old Democratic candidate, got a big opportunity when she became the leader of her party’s ticket in July.
This happened after Joe Biden, who is 81, decided to stop his campaign for re-election following a tough debate with Trump. Despite all these challenges, the polls show that Harris and Trump have been very close for months.
With over 80 million people having already voted early, both Trump and Harris are working hard to encourage their supporters to vote on Election Day, Tuesday.
