Chicago – November 11, 2024
President-elect Donald Trump has stated that Tom Homan, a hardline immigration official, will be in charge of monitoring the US borders in the upcoming Republican administration.
Late on Sunday, Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, “I am happy to announce that the former ICE Director and border control stalwart, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders [‘The Border Czar’].”
Homan will oversee “all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin,” he said, adding, “I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders.”
The US Senate does not need to confirm such a role. Trump, 78, has promised to begin the biggest deportation campaign of undocumented aliens in US history on the first day of his presidency. With the vote on November 5, Trump, who never acknowledged losing in 2020, completed an incredible return to the office.
