اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ
It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Br. Gulam Mohammed Khan. إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَ إِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُون
The funeral prayers (Salatul Janazah) were held on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, after the Dhuhr prayer at 12:30 PM at the Muslim Community Center (MCC) at 4380 N. Elston Ave, Chicago, IL 60641.
Tadfeen took place at 1:30 PM at Rosehill Cemetery, 2150 W. Peterson Ave, Chicago, IL 60659.
وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ
A large gathering of over 300 people, including family, friends, and loved ones, attended the funeral at the cemetery. The women’s prayers were conducted from the cars, as the parking lot was filled with vehicles.
The weather was extremely cold and dry, with the temperature dropping to a single digit.
After Maghrib, a dinner was held in his honour at the MCC Banquet Hall. Attendees gathered to offer condolences and support to the grieving family. Guests were hosted by his son, Hafiz Awaise M. Khan, and his wife, Safdari Begum Khan, residents of Oak Brook, Illinois.
We ask Allah (SWT) to grant Br. Gulam Mohammed Khan a place in Jannatul Firdous and to forgive his sins. May Allah grant his family and loved ones Sabr Jameel during this difficult time.
Please keep him in your duas and pray for his forgiveness and peace hereafter.
Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’oon
