Eknath Shinde, the caretaker Chief Minister of Maharashtra, addressed rumors about his son, Shrikant Shinde, being considered for the position of Deputy Chief Minister. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Shinde clarified that discussions on the matter are still ongoing, and no final decision has been made yet.
He explained that many people, especially journalists, have been speculating about the issue. Shinde revealed that he had already met with Union Minister Amit Shah and mentioned that another important meeting would take place in Mumbai. In this meeting, he, along with key leaders like Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, will discuss the issue in more detail before making any final decisions.
Shinde also downplayed the importance of specific government posts, stating that the people of Maharashtra have voted for them due to their commitment to serving the state, not for individual roles. He emphasized that the main goal is to fulfill the promises made to the people, not to focus on positions of power.
In related news, Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule confirmed that the new government’s oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for December 5 in Mumbai.
