Former Indian Test Cricketer Syed Abid Ali Passes Away

The cricket world is mourning the loss of Syed Abid Ali, a former Indian Test cricketer who passed away on March 12, 2025, in a hospital in Tracy, USA. Born on September 9, 1941, in Hyderabad, Abid Ali was a talented all-rounder known for his batting and bowling skills.

Abid Ali made his Test debut against Australia on December 23, 1967, and went on to play 29 Test matches for India, scoring 1,018 runs and taking 47 wickets. He also played five One Day Internationals (ODIs), marking his presence in the early days of ODI cricket.
