Bill Clinton, the 42nd president, reflected on Carter’s commitment to serving others throughout his life, guided by faith. Clinton also shared that, despite their differences, he admired Carter’s dedication to the country.
Joe Biden, the current president, called Carter a symbol of “simple decency” and a life dedicated to service. Biden honored Carter’s legacy as a champion of peace, civil rights, and global democracy, and remembered him as a dear friend.
