Students at Tehran University in Iran are protesting after a fellow student, 19-year-old Amir Mohammad Khaleghi, was killed in a robbery near his dormitory. The protesters are upset with school officials, saying they didn’t do enough to keep students safe.

On Friday, protesters clashed with police near the scene of the crime, shouting slogans like “Shame on you!” and “University security is a tool of the IRGC, you are our murderers!” The students are demanding answers and justice for Khaleghi’s death.

Iran’s Vice President, Mohammad Reza Aref, has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident. However, the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology, Hossein Sarraf, warned protesters that they would face severe consequences if they continued to demonstrate.

The protest started as a response to the student’s death, but it could potentially lead to more widespread unrest in the country.
