Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 30 people in Gaza today, including nine in Beit Hanoon, a town in the north, and seven in Nuseirat, located in central Gaza. One of the deadliest attacks targeted the upper floor of al-Wafaa Hospital in Gaza City, resulting in at least seven deaths and numerous injuries, some critical. Gaza’s Civil Defence reports that the situation is dire, with more casualties expected.
In the past six days, five babies have died from hypothermia in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the growing humanitarian crisis. International aid organizations have called for the immediate release of Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, who was arrested during an Israeli attack on the hospital on Friday.
The ongoing conflict has led to significant loss of life. According to recent reports, over 45,000 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 108,000 have been injured since Israel’s military operations began on October 7, 2023. On the other side, at least 1,139 Israelis have died, and over 200 were taken hostage during the attacks by Hamas. The war continues to escalate, with no clear resolution in sight.
