“In a recent development in the ongoing conflict, Russian forces launched several missiles at Ukraine early Thursday morning. Reports suggest that among these was an intercontinental ballistic missile, fired from the Astrakhan region. This event marks a significant escalation in the warfare tactics being used.
The Ukrainian Air Force responded by successfully intercepting six Kh-101 cruise missiles using their anti-aircraft systems, as stated on their Telegram channel. Despite these efforts, the missile strike damaged important infrastructure in Dnipro, a central-eastern Ukrainian city.
This aggressive action by Russia follows an earlier incident where Ukraine, for the first time, utilized American-provided long-range missiles to target locations within Russia. This operation occurred on Tuesday and was approved by President Biden last Sunday.
As of now, there have been no reported casualties from these latest attacks. The use of an intercontinental ballistic missile, if confirmed, represents a significant and worrying development in the conflict that has now lasted over 1,000 days.”
