South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is likely to be chosen by President-elect Donald Trump as the next Secretary of Homeland Security.
Governor Noem, who has been leading South Dakota since 2019, was previously considered a possible vice-presidential candidate for Trump.
If selected, she would collaborate with Tom Homan, recently named as Trump’s “border czar,” and Stephen Miller, the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for policy at the White House. This team will work together on national security and border issues.
