Chicago – January 22, 2026

US President Donald Trump is encountering significant resistance from Western allies in his push to establish a new international body dubbed the “Board of Peace,” an initiative aimed at resolving global conflicts.

While the proposal has failed to gain traction among many traditional US partners, it has received backing from a mix of Middle Eastern monarchies, authoritarian leaders, and at least one figure facing allegations of war crimes.
Despite skepticism in Europe and other Western regions, several countries have agreed to participate.

Those accepting the invitation include the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Pakistan, Turkey, Hungary, Morocco, Kosovo, Argentina, and Paraguay. Support has also come from Central Asian nations such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, along with Southeast Asian countries Indonesia and Vietnam.
