Chicago – January 27, 2026
The American Islamic Society (AIS) and Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) USA have made history by raising $200,000 during a charitable fundraising dinner held in Chicago. The funds will go toward supporting what is set to become the world’s largest orphan care home, providing housing, education, and essential resources for 2,000 orphaned children worldwide.

During the event, leadership from AIS and MWF announced a joint partnership aimed at expanding their humanitarian operations in India, with a particular focus on Hyderabad. The initiative will dedicate efforts to supporting orphaned children, widows, and impoverished families by facilitating marriage support for daughters, sustaining the Sadaat Fund project, and offering food assistance to marginalized communities.
The evening centered on a faith-based approach to alleviating poverty, emphasizing the importance of education as a pathway to empowerment, in line with Quranic and Prophetic teachings.

The gala drew a diverse audience including esteemed scholars, local and national politicians, community leaders, business professionals, and a significant number of young attendees. Their collective participation underscored a shared commitment to building a more compassionate and equitable society.
AIS and MWF USA reaffirmed their dedication to “serving humanity without discrimination,” pledging to continue expanding their global welfare programs to uplift vulnerable populations through education, empowerment, and social support.
