Chicago – October 18, 2025

On October 18, 2025, millions of demonstrators gathered across more than 2,600 cities and towns nationwide to participate in the “No Kings” protests against President Donald Trump’s administration. These rallies, organized as a peaceful response to what protesters describe as authoritarian policies, targeted Trump’s stances on immigration, education, security, and the ongoing government shutdown.

Major urban centers including New York City, Washington, D.C., and Chicago saw large crowds rallying against the administration’s actions, emphasizing the defense of democratic principles and the First Amendment. Organizers and participants expressed concerns about Trump’s increased use of federal enforcement and military presence in American cities.

The National Guard was deployed in some states as a precaution, with heightened security following Republican calls for law and order in light of the demonstrations. Despite political tensions and strong rhetoric from both supporters and critics of Trump, the protests remained largely peaceful.

This event marks the second massive nationwide “No Kings” protest since President Trump’s administration took office, with organizers hailing it as a significant show of grassroots democratic power. Attendance was reported to be even higher than previous protests held earlier in the year.
