Chicago – November 05, 2025

A tragic accident occurred early Thursday morning when a UPS cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, resulting in the deaths of at least nine people, according to local authorities.

The aircraft, identified as a UPS Airbus A300, was en route to Dallas when it reportedly experienced engine trouble moments after lifting off around 3:15 a.m. Witnesses said they saw flames coming from one of the engines before the plane went down in a wooded area near the airport, causing a massive fire that could be seen from miles away.

Firefighters and emergency crews rushed to the scene, battling intense flames for more than an hour before confirming multiple fatalities. No injuries on the ground have been reported. The airport temporarily suspended operations as investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration began examining the cause of the crash.

UPS released a brief statement expressing its sorrow and confirming full cooperation with federal authorities. The identities of the victims have not yet been released pending family notification.
