The Department of Defense (DoD) revealed two major aid packages for Ukraine on Monday, totaling $2.47 billion. These packages are aimed at helping Ukraine defend itself against ongoing Russian attacks.
The first package, valued at $1.25 billion under the Presidential Drawdown Authority, will provide urgently needed support. It includes air defense missiles, ammunition for artillery and rocket systems, and anti-tank weapons.
The second package, part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), is worth $1.22 billion. It focuses on air defense systems, air-to-ground weapons, drones, and other tools to boost Ukraine’s ability to respond to Russian aggression.
According to the DoD, this marks the 23rd USAI package and the 73rd equipment delivery from U.S. military stockpiles since August 2021. The United States, alongside about 50 allied nations, remains committed to supporting Ukraine through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
The DoD also highlighted that the packages include missile systems, medical supplies, anti-armor tools, and more, as the U.S. continues its efforts to help Ukraine prevail in the conflict.
