Chicago – November 07, 2024
On Thursday, President Biden made a speech from the White House Rose Garden following Vice President Kamala Harris’s concession in the 2024 presidential race to President-elect Donald Trump.
President Biden had previously congratulated Trump on Wednesday, promising a smooth and peaceful transition to his administration. In January, Trump will return to the White House after winning the election with more than 72 million votes and at least 295 Electoral College votes.
Vice President Harris received 226 Electoral College votes and over 68 million votes, with some ballots still being counted.
During their campaign, both Biden and Harris had labeled Trump as a threat to democracy, often calling him a “fascist.” However, after Trump’s clear victory, President Biden shifted his message to one of unity, describing political campaigns as battles of different visions for America.
This approach marked a significant change from his earlier comments, underscoring the importance of coming together after the election.
