Chicago – July 20, 2024
Facing pressure from his own party to drop out of the race, President Joe Biden announced he looks forward to returning to the campaign trail next week. He warned that Donald Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention presented a “dark vision” for America.
In a statement on Friday, Biden said, “Last night the American people saw the same Donald Trump they rejected four years ago. For over 90 minutes, he focused on his own grievances, with no plan to unite us and no plan to improve life for working people.”
Biden, currently isolating at home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, due to COVID-19, remains confident he can defeat Trump in November despite trailing in polls. “Donald Trump’s dark vision for the future is not who we are as Americans,” he said. “Together, as a party and as a country, we can and will defeat him at the ballot box.”
Biden plans to expose “the threat of Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda” and advocate for his own vision and record, emphasizing democracy, rights, freedoms, and opportunities for all.
