The Election Commission of India recently announced the schedule for the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand for 2024.
Voters in Maharashtra will cast their ballots on November 20, while Jharkhand will have its polling in two stages on November 13 and November 20. The results will be counted on November 23.
During a press conference held in New Delhi on October 15, it was revealed that the notification for the Maharashtra elections will be issued on October 22.
Candidates must file their nominations by October 29, with the nominations being checked on October 30. The last day to withdraw from the election is November 4.
The current Maharashtra assembly, which has 288 members, will finish its term on November 26.
On the other hand, the Jharkhand assembly will end its term on January 5 of the following year. This sets the stage for a crucial election period in both states.
