In Jammu and Kashmir, the newly formed Cabinet has taken a significant step by requesting the central government to give back its state status.
Omar Abdullah recently became the Chief Minister and led his first Cabinet meeting in Srinagar’s Civil Secretariat on Thursday. This happened right after his swearing-in ceremony as the leader of the Union Territory.
They all agreed on a resolution during this important meeting, which other ministers also attended. They want the central government to consider making Jammu and Kashmir a state again.
Although the government did not immediately share many details about the discussion, it’s clear that this resolution is a key focus.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah plans to visit New Delhi soon. He intends to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and present this resolution, hoping for a positive response.
This move by the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet marks a crucial moment in their ongoing efforts to regain statehood.
