Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, aiming to strengthen her support among Black voters, introduced new policy ideas on Monday specifically targeting Black men.
These policies include offering one million small business loans that can be completely forgiven, each up to $20,000, for entrepreneurs in underserved areas.
Additionally, Harris plans to legalize recreational marijuana and ensure that Black entrepreneurs can participate in this emerging industry.
The proposals are in response to concerns from the Harris campaign and other Democrats, like former President Obama, about the turnout and support of Black men in the upcoming election on November 5.
Harris’s other plans involve increasing Black Americans’ involvement in the cryptocurrency sector and starting a national health initiative focusing on issues like sickle cell anemia, which significantly affects Black men.
These initiatives are part of her broader strategy to show how her economic policies would benefit all men. Harris is also scheduled to visit Erie County, Pennsylvania, for a campaign rally and will stop at a local Black-owned business.
