Singer Katy Perry says she feels “battered and bruised” after people online criticized her recent space flight. But she told fans she’s OK and will “keep looking to the light.”

Two weeks ago, Perry went on a short 11-minute trip to space with Blue Origin, along with five other women. Many people online made fun of the flight, and Perry said it felt like the internet was trying to turn her into a “human piñata.”

But some fans showed love and support by putting up a big digital billboard in New York City’s Times Square just for her. When Perry saw it, she said she was “so grateful” and told fans, “We’re in this beautiful and wild journey together.”

Perry has been one of pop music’s biggest stars for almost 20 years. But lately, some people have been saying more negative things about her. Her latest album didn’t do well, and the music video for her song Woman’s World got some criticism.

During the space flight, she sang What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong and held up her tour setlist to the camera. Some people thought this was “tone deaf” because of the high cost of space travel during tough times.

Still, Perry’s fans stood by her. In her message to them, she wrote, “I love you guys… I’ve grown up with you and I’m so excited to see you all over the world this year!”
