The National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance have officially requested that the government be formed in Jammu and Kashmir. Omar Abdullah, who is set to become the Chief Minister again, met with Lieutenant-Governor Manoj Sinha to discuss this.
Omar showed him support letters from his partners right after the Congress party decided to support him. This happened because the newly elected Congress members chose to back NC in a meeting in Srinagar.
Omar Abdullah explained that forming a government takes a few steps. Since Jammu and Kashmir are Union Territory, the process involves more than local decisions.
The documents must be prepared and sent to Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Home Ministry. Omar hopes this will be done quickly so he can take his oath as Chief Minister on Wednesday, October 16.
The decision comes after NC and Congress leaders, including NC president Farooq Abdullah, agreed on their plans and received the necessary support from Congress leaders like Tariq Hameed Karra.
