Trump’s Inaugural Committee Raises Record-Breaking $239 Million
The presidential inaugural committee for Donald Trump collected a staggering $239 million for his swearing-in ceremony. This amount is almost four times more than what President Joe Biden’s committee raised in 2021.

Big Donors and Their Connections
Some of the biggest donors include companies and individuals who have close ties to the Trump administration. For example, Pilgrim’s Pride, a poultry company, donated $5 million, while cryptocurrency firms Ripple Labs and Robinhood gave nearly $4.9 million and $2 million, respectively. Some donors have even been appointed to roles in the Trump administration, including Warren Stephens, who donated $4 million and is Trump’s pick for US ambassador to the UK.

Donations from Influential Figures
Other notable donors include billionaire businessman Jared Isaacman, who gave $2 million and is awaiting Senate confirmation to head NASA. Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos each donated $1 million and got prime seats at the inauguration ceremony.

No Limits on Donations
Inaugural committees can accept large donations without any limits, raising questions about the influence of big donors on the administration. The committee’s filing with the Federal Election Commission shows that many donors have secured roles in the Trump administration, sparking debate about the role of money in politics.

A Record-Breaking Haul
The $239 million raised by Trump’s inaugural committee is a record-breaking amount, surpassing the $107 million raised in 2017. The donations have raised questions about the relationship between big donors and the administration, and how this might impact decision-making in the future.
