Chicago – April 27, 2025

A major law enforcement operation in Colorado Springs on Sunday resulted in the arrest of more than 100 individuals suspected of being in the U.S. illegally. The Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Rocky Mountain Division reported that 114 people were taken into custody during a raid at an underground nightclub. The detainees were then transported by bus for processing and potential deportation.

The DEA’s operation, described as a “multi-agency enforcement action,” not only led to the arrests but also included the seizure of drugs and weapons. The raid, which began in the early hours of Sunday, involved breaking into the club, where law enforcement officers waited as patrons streamed out of the building. Video footage from the DEA shows agents breaking through a glass window as officers shouted commands for people to stop and get down. Many individuals complied, raising their hands or dropping to the ground.

According to authorities, over 200 people were present in the club at the time of the operation, which started around 3:45 a.m. local time. The DEA had issued multiple warnings before executing the raid.

Attorney General Pam Bondi commented that the club had been a frequent location for criminal activity, allegedly linked to gangs such as Tda and MS-13, with a possible reference to Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang targeted in U.S. deportations under the Trump administration.

At this time, NPR has not independently verified the immigration status of the arrested individuals or confirmed any direct links to gang membership.
