Chicago – April 29, 2025

In a scathing critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political agenda, Indian MLA Iqra Choudhary has expressed her dismay over the government’s continued focus on religious issues while ignoring more pressing concerns facing the nation. Choudhary accused Modi of constantly raising divisive topics such as mosques and Waqf, questioning the relevance of these issues in the broader context of national development.

“Every day, the same issues are being raised by the Prime Minister,” she said. “Today it’s about mosques, yesterday it was about Waqf. Is this really what matters to the nation at this time? Does the Prime Minister have no other agenda?”

Choudhary went on to highlight the dire state of the country’s economy and the widespread suffering of the poor, farmers, and laborers under the current administration. “While Modi focuses on irrelevant matters, is the economy of our country really flourishing? Are the rights of the poor, farmers, and laborers being upheld?” she questioned.

Choudhary’s remarks underscored her concern that the government’s obsession with religious and divisive issues was distracting from the urgent need to address the fundamental challenges that affect millions of Indians every day.
