U.S. President Donald Trump’s past association with financier Jeffrey Epstein has drawn renewed attention following the release of court documents related to Epstein’s sex trafficking network. While Trump’s name appears in some records and testimonies, no charges have been filed against him and no court has found him involved in Epstein’s criminal activities.
Trump and Epstein moved in similar social circles in New York and Palm Beach during the 1990s. Photographs and video footage from the period show the two attending social events together, including a party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. In a 2002 interview with New York Magazine, Trump said he had known Epstein for about 15 years and described him as someone who enjoyed socializing with women.
According to reports from Trump and others familiar with Mar-a-Lago, Epstein was later banned from the club in the early 2000s after allegedly behaving inappropriately toward a young woman. Their association reportedly ended before Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor.
Trump’s name also appeared in documents connected to civil litigation involving Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell. One of Epstein’s accusers, Virginia Giuffre, stated she never had sexual contact with Trump. Epstein’s private jet flight logs do not list Trump traveling to Epstein’s private island.
