The U.S. Secret Service says it is aware of a threatening video aired by Iranian state television targeting Barron Trump, the 20-year-old son of President Donald Trump.Â
The roughly three-minute broadcast, aired by Iran’s Channel 3, was titled “Where to kill Barron Trump?” It displayed purported information about Barron’s university, movements, escort vehicles and Secret Service protection. The video also claimed a $10 million reward was available for targeting him, although that bounty has not been independently verified.Â
A Secret Service spokesperson said the agency investigates anything that could be perceived as a threat to its protectees but declined to discuss operational security or protective intelligence. U.S. officials say the broadcast appears to be part of a broader campaign of Iranian media threats against Trump and members of his family.
The video marks an escalation in the threats, with Iranian state-linked media previously publishing material targeting Donald and Melania Trump. Much of the information presented in the latest video has not been independently verified.
