Medevac Jet Crashes in Philadelphia, Killing 7 and Injuring 19

A medical transport plane crashed in a busy Philadelphia neighborhood on Friday evening, killing at least seven people and injuring 19 others. The Learjet 55, carrying six Mexican nationals, nosedived into the ground at almost 300 mph, creating a huge crater and sending debris flying everywhere.

Witnesses described the scene as “like a war zone” with one person comparing the sound of the jet to a “missile sputtering overhead.” Many residents gathered near the crash site on Saturday, trying to make sense of the tragedy.

Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker confirmed that all six people on the plane died, including a young girl who had been receiving treatment at a local hospital. One person on the ground was also killed. Officials warned that the number of injured and dead could rise as recovery efforts continue. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
