The entertainment world is mourning the loss of Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa. The couple, along with their dog, was found dead in their Santa Fe home on Wednesday afternoon.

Hackman, 95, and Arakawa, 63, were discovered by Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies at approximately 1:45 p.m. The cause of death has not been determined, but authorities have confirmed that foul play is not suspected.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza initially stated that a preliminary death investigation was underway, pending approval of a search warrant. The sheriff’s office later confirmed the identities of the deceased and assured the public that there is no indication of foul play.

Gene Hackman was a renowned actor, winning two Academy Awards for his performances in “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven.” He was also known for his roles in “Superman” and “Mississippi Burning.”

The community is shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of the beloved couple. As the investigation continues, fans and friends are remembering Gene Hackman’s incredible legacy and the joy he brought to audiences around the world.
