India Celebrates Navkar Mantra Diwas and Mahavir Janma Kalyanak in Washington D.C.
The Embassy of India in Washington, D.C., teamed up with the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) to celebrate Navkar Mantra Diwas and Mahavir Janma Kalyanak on April 9, 2025. The event honored Jain values of peace, compassion, and unity, featuring a night of devotion, cultural performances, and reflections on Lord Mahavir’s teachings.

A Night of Spirituality and Unity
The program began with a beautiful devotional dance performance on the Navkar Mantra, setting a spiritual tone for the evening. Community leaders and Indian diaspora members gathered to celebrate Jain traditions and discuss their role in promoting global harmony. Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra emphasized the importance of ethical leadership and cultural collaboration.

Pledging to Uphold Jain Principles
During the event, the Indian diaspora pledged to uphold nine resolutions proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These resolutions focus on knowledge, action, and harmony, inspiring individuals to lead lives of compassion and integrity. The celebration concluded with a collective recitation of the Navkar Mantra, leaving attendees with a renewed sense of purpose.

Promoting Global Harmony
The event highlighted the significance of Jain principles in today’s world. By embracing these values, individuals can work towards creating a more harmonious and peaceful society. The Embassy of India in Washington, D.C., continues to promote cultural exchange and understanding between India and the United States.
