France Launches Humanitarian Visa Program for Gaza Residents
France has introduced a humanitarian visa program to help residents of Gaza who are affected by the ongoing conflict. The program aims to provide temporary refuge to Palestinians, especially those with family ties in France or in need of urgent medical care. This move comes after international concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where many people have been displaced due to the Israel-Hamas war.
Strict Security Checks
The visa process will involve strict security checks, and priority will be given to vulnerable cases, including injured individuals and children. French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized France’s commitment to humanitarian values and called for a ceasefire and a long-term political solution. The visas will be issued on a case-by-case basis through the French consulate in Jerusalem or neighboring countries, as France does not have a diplomatic presence in Gaza.
International Response
Human rights organizations have welcomed France’s decision but have asked for faster processing of the visas. Some European countries are also considering similar measures due to the escalating violence in the region. France’s initiative is part of its broader diplomatic efforts to support civilians caught in the conflict, and it hopes to provide relief to those in need.
